It’s been a long time coming, but Marvel’s Wolverine has finally added a toggle option for scent trails in the game, which have been one of the community’s biggest gripes.
Launched last month, Marvel’s Wolverine fell short of the critical acclaim that many would have expected, and scent trails were widely mocked on social media.
While it utilizes Wolverine’s mutant ability, which includes super scent and tracking, it was felt to be too easy. Now, Insomniac has finally made a change.
Wolverine Update Changes Scent Trails
Posting on X, the team announced the latest Wolverine update adds a new ‘hint’ toggle for ‘story-related scent trails’ based on community feedback.”
It brings more control to players over the visibility of Scents, Audio Cues, and Nightmare Roots, allowing for further customization of the in-game experience.
While not a particularly game-changing patch for many, it does show that Insomniac is listening to the community, though some may feel it’s too little, too late.
It will appease those who did have a particular problem with the feature, however, and will be particularly useful for those just starting out in the game who want to have less of a hand-holding experience.
More updates will likely come to Marvel’s Wolverine in the future, with the potential for more customization items like suits and claws, but we’ll have to wait and see what Insomniac has planned long-term for the title and its Marvel properties as a whole.
