If you were lucky enough to tune into the Insider Gaming Showcase at the end of May, you’ll have seen a new trailer from Terminal War, an upcoming third-person shooter that’s deeply reminiscent of the canceled Last of Us multiplayer title. It’s an homage to Factions, the competitive portion of the first Last of Us title that dropped in 2013, and it is a hugely anticipated shooter.
In a new post on social media, the team at Albatross Interactive, the studio behind Terminal War, revealed two new screenshots of the game, comparing lighting effects on an unnamed map, making prospective fans even more excited.
Terminal War Looks Incredible in Latest Images
In a post on X, the team at Albatross Interactive uncovered two new screenshots of Terminal War, showcasing lighting effects on a new, unnamed map. The environment could genuinely have been pulled straight from The Last of Us, Naughty Dog’s post-apocalyptic shooter that debuted in 2013, and the series that heavily inspired the original of Terminal War.
Those already excited about Terminal War wasted no time in hopping into the comments to participate in the debate. The split went right down the middle, with some preferring the color palette on the right because it boasts more of an ‘apocalyptic’ feel. Others felt like the left image was better because it was free of the ‘piss filter’ that covered so many games all those years ago.
In the comments, the team at Albatross also revealed some tidbits about the game, including the plan to have unique weather and lighting effects on every map in the game, which is a 4v4 multiplayer shooter.
They also confirmed that the game might get a mobile release, but if it does, it’ll be much further down the line. First up, it’s coming to PC via early access, and then console releases are planned a little later, all being well.
