Pokémon 30th Anniversary Classic Collection Cards Are Not Exclusive to UPC

Confusion has spread across social media after the reveal of the full range of the Pokémon 30th Anniversary TCG set, with odd wording from The Pokémon Company leading some to incorrectly assume the reprinted cards in the Classic Collection are exclusive to the Ultra Premium Collections.

Two UPCs will be released in November as part of the Pokémon 30th Anniversary set, themed around day and night, which will include a pack containing three cards from the Classic Collection.

These packs are not available in any other products, which led many to incorrectly assume the Classic Collection cards would only be available through the UPCs. However, that is not the case.

30th Anniversary Classic Collection Cards Available in All Booster Packs

In the official press pack for the Pokémon 30th Anniversary TCG set, it’s stated that classic cards are included in the Pokémon TCG: 30th Celebration booster packs, though they will not be legal for play in the standard TCG format.

As previously announced, each booster pack will contain five foil cards, one of which will be one of the 30 Pikachu artworks in the set, one foil Basic Energy, and one Pokémon TCG Live code card.

Confirmation that the Classic Collection cards are in the main set will be a huge boost for collectors, who had feared having to splash out for UPCs to pull the cards in the subset.

However, the pack inside the UPC is merely a guaranteed way to obtain three of the Classic Collection reprinted cards, and is not the only way to obtain them.
