Hideo Kojima’s OD Is Reportedly Safe From Planned Xbox Cuts

At least one in-development game appears to be safe from the pending cuts at Xbox.

In a new report on Tuesday, IGN’s Wesley Yin-Poole says that Hideo Kojima’s OD “remains in the works at Kojima Productions and with Xbox publishing, even as Microsoft reassesses its video game investments.”

No other details about the game’s plans were shared. However, the news comes at a time when Xbox has ended its agreement with IO Interactive to publish its upcoming “Project Fantasy” title.

A representative for Xbox told Bloomberg that the decision to cancel its deal with IO Interactive that it’s “not reducing our overall investment in games.” However, they are “taking a fresh look” at where investments are made.

“We expect to invest about the same in content as we did last year. What’s changing is where we’re investing and the kinds of projects we’re backing.”

  • Yeah he met with Asha all his flops are safe like DS and his PS6 game. Kojima will end PlayStation. But weird it hasn’t set a release yet or trailer?
