Diablo 4 already has a legion of dedicated players on PC, Xbox, and PlayStation, but will Diablo 4 be coming to the Nintendo Switch 2 at some point in the near future?
While both Diablo 2: Resurrected and Diablo 3 were ported to the original Nintendo Switch, Diablo 4 was likely too much concentrated evil for the little console to handle. Blizzard and Nintendo possibly felt that a downgraded version of Diablo 4 wasn’t the right call, especially when a more powerful console was in the works.
Now that the Switch 2 is here and various other games have arrived in portable form, all eyes are once again on Diablo 4 to see if Blizzard’s latest loot-chaser is being brought to the console. Here’s everything we know about the likelihood of Diablo 4 on Switch 2.
Will Diablo 4 be Released on The Nintendo Switch 2?

There are currently no confirmed plans to release Diablo 4 on the Nintendo Switch 2.
As of right now, Diablo 4 and its first major expansion, Vessel of Hatred, are only available on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox consoles.
However, there are rumors that this may not be the case forever, and that Diablo 4 could indeed come to the Switch 2 at some point in 2025.
Diablo 4 on Nintendo Switch 2 Rumors Explained
According to eXtas1s, a YouTuber and writer for eXputer, and as originally reported by VGC in January 2025, Blizzard is considering porting Diablo 4 to the Switch 2, and Nintendo has plans to bring more live service games to the console.
Speaking in more detail, eXtras1s said: “These are two of the video games Microsoft will port to Switch 2, but they aren’t the only ones. In fact, here’s a little bit of an exclusive or scoop I can tell you about. According to what I’ve been told, Diablo 4 is already in the works for Nintendo Switch 2, so it wouldn’t be surprising at all if Diablo 4 was released in 2025 on Switch 2.”
Diablo general manager Rod Fergusson also commented on the likelihood of Diablo 4 being released on the Switch 2. In a conversation with Gamertag Radio (as also originally reported by VGC), Fergusson said, “I think there’s opportunity there for sure. I mean, we have Diablo 3 and Diablo 2: Resurrected already on the Switch, and with backwards compatibility, it’ll be playable on Switch 2.”
He went on to say, “Switch 2 has the performance that can run a game like Diablo 4. I think the challenge is less around the hardware and just about how we…you know, live services on Switch have been a little bit challenging in the past.”
However, with games like Fortnite, Apex Legends, and even Overwatch 2 all coming to the console, it’s possible that the Switch 2 won’t necessarily have the same issues with live service games that the original Switch had.
So as of now, there’s no official confirmation that Diablo 4 will be coming to the Nintendo Switch 2, but hack-and-slash fans should feel optimistic about the likelihood of it happening one day.
