When Does Rainbow Six Siege X Come Out? Release Date Explained

Rainbow Six Siege X is a spiritual upgrade of the OG Siege experience, and its release date can’t come soon enough for tactical gamers wanting to blow holes through walls, set traps, and dominate opposition teams.

It’s crazy to think Rainbow Six Siege is 10 years old. Ubisoft’s shooter went from a multiplayer hit to an esports sensation in the blink of an eye. It’s still played by hundreds of thousands of players each day.

But Ubisoft decided it was time for a significant revamp with Rainbow Six Siege X. We learned what it was, and what the showcase was ready to show us. However, a release date is the most important part of the puzzle—and we have everything you need to know.

Rainbow Six Siege X was released on June 10—meaning it’s available right now!

That’s right, the online shooter received its shiny makeover after a groundbreaking Summer Game Fest 2025 week. Its initial maintenance period rolled out in the following time zones:

  • 7:00 AM PDT
  • 10:00 AM EDT
  • 3:00 PM BST
  • 4:00 PM CEST
  • 5:00 PM AST
  • 10:00 PM CST
  • 11:00 PM JST
  • 12:00 AM (June 11) AEST

After this, the game is available to fully download and play. It’s available on a whole host of different platforms, and virtually all of your Rainbow Six purchases and content carry over into Rainbow Six Siege X.

Is Rainbow Six Siege X Free to Play?

Unlike the original release, Rainbow Six Siege X is a completely free-to-play release in the franchise.

Siege sold like hotcakes when it first came out. Since then, the series has hit anywhere between 70-100 million registered players, and offering the newest shooter as a F2P entity will only help the series’ player count.

Under the main website’s FAQ about free access, here’s what Ubisoft says: “For new players joining on June 10, 2025, Siege will offer free access to its approachable modes, Quick Play, Unranked, and a limited pool of operators. Additional operators can be unlocked through progression. If new players wish to join Ranked mode or instantly gain access to more operators, they will have to purchase a premium edition. All existing Siege players will retain all previously unlocked content and receive Veteran rewards.”
