Blueprint Weapon Swap in Black Ops 6 allows players to customize weapons in new and unique ways. Here is everything you need to know about how to use the feature.
The Blueprint Weapon Swap feature initially went live in Black Ops 6 at the start of Season 3 for a few days before being removed because of a glitch. But instead of a simple fix, Treyarch delayed its return until the mid-season update.
Now that the wait is over, let’s jump right into how it works.
How to use Blueprint Weapon Swap in Black Ops 6

Here is a step-by-step guide on how to use Blueprint Weapon Swap.
- From the BO6 Multiplayer Home Page, scroll over to Weapons.
- Select Loadouts.
- Choose which Custom Loadout you want to customize.
- Press Square on PlayStation, X on Xbox, or the applicable input on PC to enter the Gunsmith for a weapon.
- Scroll over to Customize and select Skins.
- From this screen, you can customize the Blueprint Skin for every attachment.
Black Ops 6 Blueprint Weapon Swap Explained
Blueprint Weapon Swap allows players to customize any Black Ops 6 base weapon or Weapon Blueprint with a skin you have unlocked or purchased.
Treyarch explained, “For Weapon Blueprints, players can customize their skins with other existing Attachments. For Base Weapons, players can only change the skin of their Base Weapon, not any Attachments.”
This feature only applies to Weapon Blueprints unlocked through the Battle Pass or BlackCell Premium Pass, or purchased in the Store.
Base Camos unlocked through weapon mastery camo challenges cannot be put on individual attachments. For example, I used the XM4 Wild Mannered Base Camo in the image above, combined with the Muzzle, Barrel, and Magazine from the Wild Mannered BlackCell camo.
Essentially, you can only intermix Weapon Blueprint attachments. To explain further, the Krig C Bad Beat Weapon Blueprint has a custom Optic, Muzzle, Magazine, Rear Grip, and Laser. You can use any of those individual custom attachments mixed with other Krig C Weapon Blueprint attachments.
Weapon Blueprint attachments can only be used for that weapon. You can’t use a Jackal PDW Blueprint attachment on the C9.
The feature is confusing, but it makes sense once you get the hang of it. And it’s a shame that you have to buy most weapon blueprints, yet there are still many good Battle Pass options.
