Midway through April, it was suggested that Marvel Rivals would be getting a lineup of swimsuit skins in celebration of summer. The team at NetEase has started delivering on those expectations with today’s reveal of the Squirrel Girl Sunshine Squirrel costume.
It’s being added to Marvel Rivals tomorrow, and if social media is anything to go by, fans are already going feral for the tailed hero. Rocket Raccoon is also set to get the summer treatment with the Sunshine Raccoon costume, but folks are less interested in that.

In a post on social media, NetEase revealed the Squirrel Girl Sunshine Squirrel costume with a short trailer showcasing the skin. The blurb attached to the trailer read:
“You like the new outfit? I know everyone else is getting all gussied up for the Gala tonight, but I think hitting the beach is more my style.”

Fans started frothing at the bit last month when it was suggested that an entire lineup of swimsuit-style costumes was inbound to Marvel Rivals, which remains one of the most popular hero shooters on the market since being released in December 2024.

It has taken a couple of weeks, but costumes in that vein are starting to appear.
Many expected the likes of Luna Snow, Emma Frost, or Invisible Woman to be the first to pick up a swimsuit costume, but Squirrel Girl is the first major recipient of a more revealing outfit.
The Squirrel Girl ‘Sunshine Squirrel’ costume will be available in the store from 7 PM PDT tomorrow, May 8.
