Gears of War: E-Day Reportedly Passes 400K Paid Sales

E-Day multiplayer

Tom Warren of The Verge reports Gears of War: E-Day has sold more than 400,000 copies on XBOX and Steam, while Game Pass revenue remains unclear.

Warren asks whether the Game Pass numbers are successful and whether they could have offset additional XBOX hardware sales, or the sales a potential PS5 release could have generated, had XBOX decided to port the game to Sony hardware.

E-Day was one of XBOX’s first major releases under Asha Sharma’s leadership and the first to champion a soft return to console exclusivity for certain games. This follows the launch of Halo: Campaign evolved on PS5, marking the first time the legendary Microsoft franchise was playable on PlayStation.
