Ubisoft shares an Assassin’s Creed Invictus update, confirming development, more testing, and changes based on feedback from a private Assassin’s Creed playtest.
In May, a playtest of the multiplayer Assassin’s Creed project was reportedly “awful.” Now, in its Fall 2026 update, Ubisoft has shared more details about the playtest, what went well, and what needs to evolve.
Ubisoft Says Invictus Is Evolving Around Assassin’s Creed

In the update, the Assassin’s Creed team says the response to PVP multiplayer was very positive, but they noted that a central theme in the feedback was the desire for more core pillars of Assassin’s Creed to be present throughout gameplay.
The update notes that the team has taken that feedback to heart and is now evolving the game in “an exciting direction that better reflects those pillars while staying true to its multiplayer ambitions.”
We’re proud of the work so far and very excited for the year ahead. Invictus is still in development, so information you come across online may be incomplete, outdated, or inaccurate. We’ll keep testing new iterations and update you as soon as we have more to share.
During the original playtest discussion, players repeatedly used “Assassin’s Creed x Fall Guys” to describe the project. However, the game didn’t look like Fall Guys; instead, it resembled a traditional Assassin’s Creed title, with players choosing one of their favorite characters to battle in iconic franchise locations. At the time, footage was sent to Insider Gaming, on the condition that it not go public,
It is not yet known when the public will be able to play Invictus. Insider Gaming will continue to monitor the story and report any updates as more information becomes available.
