Assassin’s Creed Invictus Playtests Leaks Say The Game Is “Awful”

A new leak claims that recent Assassin’s Creed Invictus playtesters have said the game is awful.

That’s according to xj0nathan, who claimed there was a recent playtest of the game on April 30, which Insider Gaming can independently verify.

According to xj0nathan, he was told the game is “f**king awful” and could be delayed from its intended 2026 release or even canceled.

Is Invictus Really THAT Bad?

Insider Gaming has reported on Invictus’ development over the past couple of years, and we have been in communication with both the developers at Ubisoft and playtesters throughout the game’s development.

While we’ve heard that the game is perhaps in a state you wouldn’t expect from a multiplayer project that’s been many years in development, we’ve also heard that it does have some potential, and, seemingly, Ubisoft thinks so too.

Assassin’s Creed x Fall Guys has been thrown around a lot to describe the project throughout its development, and although the game has some Fall Guys elements, in the sense that it’s a knockout-round-based game, it does not look like Fall Guys. Ubisoft itself mentioned this in a blog post earlier this year, saying that the game “isn’t quite what the rumors have suggested.”

In fact, the game looks just like an Assassin’s Creed game, where players select one of their favorite characters to battle it out in areas placed in iconic Assassin’s Creed locations.

Footage sent to Insider Gaming, on the condition that it not go public, shows several iconic Assassins from the franchise fighting in an arena from Assassin’s Creed Mirage, as well as another from Odyssey.

As for whether Invictus will be delayed or canceled, well, the game has been delayed several times throughout development, and while we cannot rule out a cancellation at this time, Invictus is a part of Ubisoft’s 10-year Assassin’s Creed plan to bring new experiences to the universe.

Invictus has remained in development, with a small, dedicated team of For Honor veteran developers working on the project, in the hope that they can replicate For Honor’s live-service success, which remains profitable for Ubisoft as it enters its 10th year.
