Take-Two Loses $2 Billion In Value Following GTA 6 Leaks

Gaming has been rocked by the Grand Theft Auto 6 leaks. New leaks from GTA 6 have surfaced all over the internet, with gamers everywhere seeing new features and gameplay not meant for public consumption. It would appear the leaks have had an adverse effect on Take-Two’s stock price immediately following it all.

The stock market is volatile at the best of times, but it won’t mean much to Take-Two right now. August 18’s data breach has seen GTA 6 leaks arrive left, right, and center, and it’s had a knock-on effect on Take-Two’s stock price and overall value.

GTA 6 Leaks Likely Cause Take-Two Stock Price to Drop

At the time of writing, and using data from Yahoo! Finance, although things could easily change in the coming hours and days, Take-Two’s stock price is $232.84.

Take-Two’s price on August 18, before the leaks, sat at $248.13.

This means a $15.29 per share drop, and Take-Two has lost $2.83 billion in market cap in less than two days. Take-Two’s company market cap is still worth over $43 billion, so it’s not like the company is going out of business or anything, but $2.83 billion is a big loss.

Again, I stress, this was at the time of writing this article, and the stock market fluctuates. While we can’t attribute one defining factor to this drop, common sense would suggest that the GTA 6 leaks have hit Take-Two.

Furthermore, with the shocking development that the GTA 6 leaker has ‘proven’ they have full build access, it means more leaks are happening. Insider Gaming is tracking all CYBERLEEK leaks so far, which have outed the game’s map, an Honor System, and many gameplay videos.

With fears that the game’s ending could be leaked, it remains to be seen how destructive the leaks could end up being for Take-Two.

Will the stock continue to drop as more leaks are revealed? Let us know on the Insider Gaming Discord server.
