Earlier this year, Nintendo revealed that price increases were coming for the Nintendo Switch 2. This is in line with other global price increases across major gaming hardware, and while the US price increase is known, UK and Ireland residents have had to wait a bit longer to find out.
As a UK resident, I’m relieved that I already own a Nintendo Switch 2. Price increases are getting out of control, and it’s still wild to think we’re in a generation where prices are going up the further we get into a generation, not the other way around.
In 2025, the original Nintendo Switch prices were raised, and now it’s the turn of the Switch 2.
Switch 2 Prices in the UK & Ireland Going Up
From September 2026, Nintendo Switch 2 prices are rising worldwide. The May announcement detailed that the US RRP would go from $449.99 to $499.99, whereas most European countries would see the device rise from €469.99 to €499.99.
The UK and the Republic of Ireland have had to wait a bit longer, but we have the figures.

Switch 2 prices will rise from £395.99/€469,99 to £419.99/€499,99.
This marks a £24 increase in the UK, and €30 in Ireland (not Northern Ireland) for anyone eyeing up a base model.
Both the Nintendo Store United Kingdom and Nintendo Store Ireland will be updated from September 2026 to reflect the adjusted numbers.
At this point, we can only hope that no further increases are coming, and it might even be worth hanging on for the next model upgrade.
It’s been reported that a new Nintendo Switch 2 with an updated screen is in development.
