Forza Horizon 6 is eventually releasing on PS5, and it continues the bizarre new world where Xbox and PlayStation are teaming up to bring many of Microsoft’s biggest IPs over the years to Sony consoles.
It’s a mixed bag of emotions for PlayStation 5 fans where Forza is concerned. On one hand, it’s been a great year with Forza Horizon 5 marking the franchise’s first bow on PlayStation. It’s also official that Forza Horizon 6 is coming to the PS5, but owners will have to wait a little while longer than on Xbox and PC.
Forza Horizon 6 Arrives on PS5 in 2026 or Possibly 2027

Forza Horizon 6 was revealed at the 2025 Tokyo Game Show. It was only a brief reveal trailer with no cars or hints of proper gameplay, but it confirmed a sixth mainline Forza Horizon game and locked in the long-awaited Japan setting.
We did some undercover work and found through an Xbox Wire post that Forza Horizon 6 will follow in the footsteps of Forza Horizon 5 by speeding its way onto PS5.
“Forza Horizon 6 will launch first on Xbox consoles and PC in 2026. With the excitement for this franchise on other platforms, Playground Games and Turn 10 Studios are also working together to bring Forza Horizon 6 to PlayStation 5 post-launch,” said the article.
This tells us Forza 6 is locked in for 2026, and it means a PS5 launch will either be the latter end of 2026, or it might get pushed back to 2027. Either way, a PlayStation 5 port is happening, and as weird as it is to say, it seems like Forza has a permanent home on PlayStation for the foreseeable future!
A world where Xbox games appearing on PlayStation is still weird to us. Do you feel the same way? Are there other Xbox franchises you’re keen to switch lanes and make the turn to PS5 as well? As always, the Insider Gaming forum is the perfect sanctuary for you to take shelter and share your thoughts.
Additionally, Insider Gaming has much more gaming news: Bruce Lee is Hitman: World of Assassination’s newest character, Hades 2 is the highest-rated game of 2025, and a Palworld and Once Human crossover is happening.
