According to a new post on the official Fortnite Twitter feed, the anticipated TMNT crossover event will release on February 9th.
The post features graffiti art of the classic Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles catch phrase, ‘Cowabunga’.
However, the devs did not officially share any further details about the exact launch time, potential event gameplay, or cosmetics.
This collaboration with the beloved turtles first leaked in December 2023. Cosmetics surfaced online, which even revealed the possible back bling.
According to those leaks, the back bling will feature the ninja turtles’ signature weapons and a skateboard.
This Fortnite collaboration continues the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles renaissance. Shredder’s Revenge and its Dimension Shellshock DLC were brilliant, nostalgic hits.
And in March 2023, Doug Rosen of Paramount Global revealed key details about an upcoming adaptation of The Last Ronin.
Given the attitude of the source material, this game would likely be much edgier than a bright, colorful crossover with Fortnite.
Fortnite continues to ramp up content, aside from traditional IP collaborations. Rocket Racing and Fortnite Festival have proven very successful, and they greatly widened the player base.
Earlier this week, PDP revealed the first wireless guitar controller for Fortnite Festival, the PDP Riffmaster.
These new modes have attracted many new players to Fortnite. The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are a crowd pleaser that should appeal to all Fortnite fans.
After the TMNT crossover, Fortnite could feature a variety of other IPs. A recent player survey from December 2023 revealed many desired collaborations, including Super Mario, Final Fantasy, and more.
Recent leaks also suggest that the anticipated Fortnite OG return could get its own separate mode. This implied that Fortnite OG could potentially become a permanent mode.
