Final Fantasy 16’s PC port is in the “final states of optimization”, and players should expect a demo ahead of its full release.
In an interview with Game Informer, producer Naoki Yoshida says that progress on the PC port of the game is moving along
“In terms of where we are in development currently, we’re trying to figure out the final stages of optimization right now,” Yoshida told Game Informer via a translator.
“When we can release the PC version might be dependent on that – the system requirements and specifications for PC that players will need, so we’re trying to figure that out. Naturally, [the PC specifications] are looking to be somewhat high.”
He added that despite development “going smoothly”, there’s no set plans of when players should expect to see the game released for PC.
That said, Yoshida said that when the team at Square Enix does decide to announce the release for the game, it will coincide with a demo announcement. That way players will be able to make sure Final Fantasy 16 can run on their PC.
That demo, he says, will be within a year.
“Again, we can’t really talk about too much in terms of details of when it’s going to come out – I think in a little bit more time we’ll be in a better place to announce things,” he said. “But one thing’s for sure: It won’t be too distant in the future; it won’t be a year, it won’t be two years, it will probably be shorter than that, so stay tuned.”
