Epic Games has confirmed that the next Fortnite weekly update, which includes the unlock of the General Grievous skin as a Battle Pass reward, has been delayed.
Fortnite’s Galactic Battle mini-season, themed around Star Wars, features weekly patches with new content and skins, culminating in a live event on June 7, and the next update was due to release on May 15.
Last week’s Pull of the Force update added Leia Organa and Luke Skywalker as NPCs to the map, and the schedule was set to see Chewbacca join the fray, alongside unlocking the General Grievous skin as an earnable reward for those who own the Battle Pass.
Players will have to wait a little longer, however, as an update from Epic Games announced the v35.10 update is now due to be released on May 16 instead.
Downtime for the update will begin at 1 am PT/3 am CT/4 am ET/9 am BST/6 pm AEST and could last a few hours.
What Else is Coming in The Fortnite Update?
Chewbacca’s addition to the map in the next Fortnite update comes alongside two more weapons being added to the pool; the return of the Wookiee Bowcaster and the brand-new CA-87 Jawa Scatter Blaster.
General Greivous’ skin will be unlockable for those who own the Battle Pass by completing challenges, which are yet to be revealed but are usually geared around earning XP and raising your account level for the season.
Alongside those confirmed additions, prominent leaker ShiinaBR suggests leaks for the superhero-themed season up next, a new Mandalorian skin, which has long been claimed to be customizable, and “mysterious new XP shop leaks” are also on the cards.
With the Epic Games Mega Sale due to kick off this week, we could also see some free cosmetics to earn in Fortnite, alongside the free skins already available.
