Ubisoft has revealed its new cost reduction plan, which aims to reduce over $110 million over the next two years.
Ubisoft has just released its full-year 2024-25 earnings figures, and a new cost reduction program has been spotted in the report. The company has already achieved the initial plan and is slightly above the €200 million target (around USD 224 million). However, they have added an additional fixed cost reduction target of €100 million (over USD 110 million), which has to be achieved in the next 2 years.
Ubisoft has shut down several studios and laid off staff over time to achieve cost efficiency, and with the latest cost reduction program, it seems that more shutdowns and layoffs could occur.
Moreover, the earning results state that Assassin’s Creed Shadows prompted strong praise from players and delivered a performance “clearly ahead” of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. Their net bookings were €1.85bn, which was slightly below the objective.
Ubisoft added that the Assassin’s Creed and Rainbow Six franchises’ unique active players were around 30 million for the fourth consecutive year.
