If you hear GTA 6 and delay in the same sentence, you no doubt suddenly feel a shooting sense of fear rumbling around your bones, because no one wants another one. This article has gathered up the latest details on another potential GTA 6 delay in 2026.
With mere months until GTA 6‘s launch, is Rockstar prepping another heartbreaking hurdle? The world has already been hurt by GTA 6 delays, and the internet is furiously searching around to see if Rockstar is about to do it again.
Is Grand Theft Auto 6 Getting Delayed Again in 2026?

Insider Gaming’s very own Tom Henderson has said that GTA 6 is still coming out in 2026, and there shouldn’t be any further delays at this moment in time.
First of all, this is GTA, and this is Rockstar Games. Unfortunately, nothing can be ruled out, especially in this gaming climate, and more so where GTA 6 is concerned. If another delay is unexpectedly announced at some point in 2026, then don’t say we didn’t warn you.

However, Henderson has reiterated:
“It’s still slated for this year.”
If you don’t know, IG’s Tom Henderson is one of the world’s leading game journalists and insiders, and has an incredible track record. You should feel confident that GTA 6 is still coming out on November 19, 2026.
The April 2026 delay rumor surfaced after Rockstar Games was once again breached by hackers. The developer then reached out to Insider Gaming:
“We can confirm that a limited amount of non-material company information was accessed in connection with a third-party data breach. This incident has no impact on our organization or our players.”
The GTA 6 hackers said the Stolen Data “Will be published as their demands had not been met.” Given the severity of the 2022 GTA 6 leak that released an incredible amount of GTA 6 videos and screenshots, there have been concerns that a new breach could once again affect GTA 6’s launch. However, this doesn’t seem to be the case.
Should anything change, Insider Gaming will be the first to let you know, so keep checking back for updates.

Here’s what the company had to say about the first delay:
“Hi everyone,
Grand Theft Auto VI is now set to release on May 26, 2026.
We are very sorry that this is later than you expected. The interest and excitement surrounding a new Grand Theft Auto has been truly humbling for our entire team. We want to thank you for your support and your patience as we work to finish the game.
With every game we have released, the goal has always been to try and exceed your expectations, and Grand Theft Auto VI is no exception. We hope you understand that we need this extra time to deliver at the level of quality you expect and deserve.
We look forward to sharing more information with you soon.
Sincerely,
Rockstar Games.”
With a game of GTA 6’s magnitude and Rockstar’s obvious desire to ensure the game is as ready as can be, at least one delay was expected. The developer has a history of delaying games in the ultimate quest for perfection anyway.
Before we even reached the end of 2025, the company had another knockout blow as Grand Theft Auto 6 was delayed to November 2026:
“Hi everyone,
Grand Theft Auto VI will now release on Thursday, November 19, 2026.
We are sorry for adding additional time to what we realize has been a long wait, but these extra months will allow us to finish the game with the level of polish you have come to expect and deserve.”
Fingers crossed it won’t be a third strike. It won’t stop people from buying GTA 6 once it does eventually launch, but the world is ready for a new Grand Theft Auto game.

Most assume 2027 but we’ll see. Watch it be a PS6 game. They need AI to make games it takes too long and they need better staff Red Dead Redemption 3 could be a 2035 game if lucky and GTA 7 might be worse in every way and 2046.
