It’s almost time to clock in for work, as Shift At Midnight has been given an official release date of May 28, 2026. Soon, you and up to two friends will be stacking shelves and shooting eldritch monstrosities, all in the name of a profitable gas station.
The news comes from the Triple I Initiative 2026, with the gaming showcase’s third iteration featuring 40 games, with eight exclusive world premieres.

Shift At Midnight Releasing May 28, 2026
Shift At Midnight is a game of two halves. You’ll be stacking shelves and selling products to meet your daily quota each night, all whilst taking in deliveries and keeping the store nice and clean.
However, you’ll want to keep an eye on your customers, as some of them may well be doppelgangers. Interrogate them as they explore your store, and put on your best detective hat as you deduce whether they’re human—or something else entirely.
You won’t want to be wrong, either, as if you let one slip by, they’ll soon return to hunt you down. Be prepared to set traps and barricade the doors, as when you see them next, they won’t be disguised as a normal person anymore.
This gameplay loop is bound to be both hilarious and horrifying with the right friend group, so long as you trust them to make the right decisions! Luckily, the game is releasing in just over a month, with a May 28 release date now confirmed, so you won’t have to wait long to try it out for yourselves.
