Battlefield 6 does the smart thing by offering a campaign after the feature took an authorized leave of absence in Battlefield 2042. We’re checking if you can enjoy the campaign with someone else, and how long the story content is expected to be.
Battlefield 2042 not having a campaign was a bold decision. We would say it wasn’t a great one. Black Ops 4 did the same thing by suddenly neglecting its long-standing single-player tradition; players felt miffed about losing a large chunk of content. Not everyone is in it for online multiplayer or Battlefield battle royale.
Thankfully, EA and Battlefield Studios are looking to right these wrongs. Let’s check out everything we know about Battlefield 6‘s campaign, if it has co-op functionality, and how long it’s expected to be.
Can You Play Battlefield 6 Campaign in Co-Op?

Battlefield 6’s campaign doesn’t include any form of co-op or online cooperative integration, meaning the missions are single-player only, and it’s designed to be enjoyed solo.
We think one of the reasons a ‘co-op campaign’ is such a popular search and frequently asked question is because of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. See, BLOPS 7 has a campaign, which is nothing new. But it’s a rare instance of the campaign having a co-op option—similar to Black Ops 3.
Black Ops 7 offers four-player co-op and even includes a wacky 32-person multiplayer campaign mission called Avalon! If you’re expecting something similar for Battlefield 6, you need to turn back on your six and head in the opposite direction.
How Long is Battlefield 6’s Campaign?
While we don’t have an official statement from EA on this, leaks suggest the Battlefield 6 campaign should take anywhere between four and six hours to complete.
Some will be disappointed by this, or if you’re realistic, you’ll probably accept this and take it. Number one, it’s better than no campaign, and number two, hardly any FPS military campaigns exceed five or six hours in length.
We know there are nine missions in total. They should be good, meaty levels, and we know it has some cool features, including the ability to control your own squad.
If you’re only getting Battlefield 6 for the campaign, you might find the ‘value for money’ argument a tricky one, based on what the leaks are saying.
Does a 4-6-hour campaign put you off? Or is this what you were expecting? Be sure to leave a comment below to let us know your thoughts. Also, head to the Insider Gaming forum to discuss the game’s lack of a co-op campaign feature. We’re interested to hear if this is a dealbreaker, and you’ll play Black Ops 7 instead.
