NASCAR 25 Wasn’t Originally Planned For PC

When NASCAR 25 launches next month, one platform that will be missing is PC. The first NASCAR game in four years is scheduled to launch on October 14 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. While it will be coming to PC later on, fans will have to wait roughly an extra month—November 11—to get their hands on the game.

But why the delay in launching on the platform?

Recently, iRacing invited a number of content creators, including Gary Owen, to check out the game and answer some questions. One popular question was why wait so long after launch to release NASCAR 25 on PC? According to the developers, there’s actually a couple of reasons.

The first is that the team is still working to fine-tune the game for PC hardware since there’s more variety in components. The other comes down to wheel support, and making sure as many wheels can be used.

It was also confirmed, according to Owen, that iRacing wasn’t originally going to release NASCAR 25 on PC. It was planned to be only available for console, but was changed to include PC after enough requests and feedback from various parties.

Hearing about the possibility of NASCAR 25 skipping over PC shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise. The developers also decided to forgo launching on the Nintendo Switch 2 due to, what they feel, is a lack of player base for a game like this on the platform.

You can check out what else Owen had to say about the game, including what he was told about the game’s PC release, in the gameplay video below. And be sure to let us know what you think of the NASCAR 25 gameplay released so far down in the comments.
