Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Demo Releasing Next Week

Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is getting a single-player demo, and it’s speeding onto consoles real soon.

Releasing on September 22nd, 2025, Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds has already received much praise. From multiple betas and previews, the frenetic racer has been getting great coverage. Even with bringing characters from multiple IPs like SpongeBob SquarePants and Persona, many are excited to gear up. Fortunately, after a tease last week, fans can start their engines a week earlier, thanks to SEGA.

Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Single-Player Demo Out September 17th

According to a tweet from the official Sonic the Hedgehog account, Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is getting a demo next week. Specifically, the demo, releasing September 17th at midnight EST, is offline and single-player. Unfortunately, those who want to play multiplayer or online will have to wait until the game’s release to do so. Still, if you missed the betas and want to try the title out, the demo is the best chance to.

As mentioned previously, there were two betas for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, one open and one closed. The most recent, the open beta, was fairly popular. With the release of Mario Kart World earlier this year, it is ironic to see Sonic against Mario again, despite the feud being over. However, in Sonic’s case, it’s taking a lesson from Super Smash Bros. by bringing non-Sonic characters into the fray. While it may be a bit much for some, like Nickelodeon characters like SpongeBob, fans are no doubt excited to shift gears.
