According to a reliable source, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is expected to release on Xbox and Nintendo Switch in 2026.
Final Fantasy 7’s Remake trilogy fans have been wondering when the next instalments will be released on other platforms, as the multi-platform strategy has been implemented. We already knew that the trilogy would be making its way to the Nintendo Switch 2; the only question was when. However, we now also know that it’s coming to Xbox, and the second part of the FF7 Remake Trilogy could arrive on both platforms in 2026.
Final Fantasy Rebirth’s Switch 2 and Xbox Release Window Reportedly Revealed
The information about Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth’s release window for Switch 2 and Xbox comes from a notable insider, NateTheHate2. Nate recently responded to a comment on Rebirth’s performance on the Switch 2 on a recent Reddit post about SwitchForce, hinting that “3 mysterious ‘7’ games” will be a part of the next Nintendo Direct. Nate stated that “Rebirth is coming to Switch 2 and Xbox in 2026,” and that’s when players will know how it runs on the platform.
Xbox Games Showcase 2025 was a good day for Final Fantasy fans on the other platform. Not only was Final Fantasy 16 shadow dropped at the event, but we also received confirmation that Final Fantasy 7 Remake will arrive for Xbox in Winter 2025. However, we are yet to receive a release date for the title.
In other news, Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade will arrive for the Switch 2 in Winter 2025 as well. Additionally, a Square Enix producer recently discussed Final Fantasy 17 and turn-based combat.
