Nintendo Issues Temperature Warning to Nintendo Switch 2 Users

Nintendo has asked players to be wary of playing the Nintendo Switch 2 in both high and low temperature environments.

The warning has seemingly stemmed from the hot weather that has recently hit Japan, with some Nintendo Switch 2 users reporting that their devices have been overheating.

Following the reports, an official Nintendo account on X has issued the following warning: “When using a Nintendo Switch or Nintendo Switch 2 in a high-temperature environment, the device’s temperature may rise. This could potentially cause malfunctions, so please use it in a location between 5–35°C.”

Notably, the warning also advises players to be cautious of temperatures below 5°C, despite recent overheat issues being linked to high temperatures. To our knowledge, this is the first time that Nintendo has issued such warnings for the Nintendo Switch 2.

Earlier this week, it was reported that Nintendo has sold nearly 6 million units of the Switch 2 in its first month, further cementing itself as one of the fastest-selling consoles of all time.

In its first four days, the console sold 3.5 million units and surpassed Nintendo’s own internal expectations.
