Battlefield 6 looks to be realistic and raucous, and having cartoon-style skins and cosmetics would really take away from its impact. If you’re worried about EA and Battlefield Studios going down that road with BF6, a dev has addressed this concern in the community.
Call of Duty is consistently one of the most popular and most-played multiplayer titles. From BOCW to Vanguard to the Modern Warfare reboots to Black Ops 6. However, I’d argue that its status in the community and overall stock feel low right now. I’d also argue we need Battlefield 6 more than ever, and a big reason why fans are losing faith in Call of Duty is the never-ending line of cosmetic crossovers.
Battlefield 6 is a “Military Shooter,” Says EA

An interesting line from CharlieIntel has revealed the direction Battlefield 6 might be headed in from a cosmetic standpoint.
On July 31, the X account shared a quote from a Battlefield dev on the game’s potential cosmetics: “The thing we can say, we are a military shooter in modern times.”
This doesn’t directly say: ‘We will not have outlandish and outrageous skins,’ but it’s as close to it as we’ll get. I interpret this as EA acknowledging that Battlefield 6 is a serious first-person shooter with prevalent militaristic themes across its Campaign, Multiplayer, and Battle Royale.
The skins we’ve seen already are fairly tame, with the odd splashes of color. No Colossal Titan is peeping around skyscrapers or King Kong vs. Godzilla-esque events happening just yet. I have to be realistic and say it’s not beyond the realms of possibility that this sort of content is introduced much later in the game’s lifecycle.

Fingers crossed it doesn’t happen and Battlefield 6 sticks to its laurels. I’m definitely interested to hear from you: Do you want Battlefield 6 to add themed skins and cosmetics later on? More importantly, do you think EA will only hold out for so long before agreeing to these lucrative opportunities? Let us know through the Insider Gaming forum.
