Hello Neighbor 3 Pre-Alpha is Available Now

tinyBuild has announced that Hello Neighbor 3’s pre-alpha begins on Steam today; here’s what’s included.

The developers released Prototype 3 for the horror title back in November 2025, and the game’s development seems to have progressed well since then, with the developers entering pre-alpha in less than 6 months. The latest version features a new mission in Raven Brooks, changes to the objective system, characters, and more.

Hello Neighbor 3 Pre-Alpha Introduces a New Mission, Overhauled Objective System, Improved Characters, and More

The Hello Neighbor 3 pre-alpha features a new corporate mission in Raven Brooks, where players are looking for a missing employee who holds the location of an important report. However, players end up unearthing a bigger mystery related to the constant disappearances in Raven Brooks.

The objective system has been overhauled, where players are guided through the narrative in a way that Hello Neighbor series’ “free roam spirit is retained. The loop-based progression will free players from speed running. The loops also end seamlessly, restarting with objectives and knowledge learned in the previous run.

Characters have been updated, too, where their behavior is now more predictable, and sneaking feels more fun. Players will also find new locations, items, and visual upgrades in Raven Brooks in the pre-alpha.

The developers have also emphasized the game being the best entry point in the series, with Nikita Kolesnikov, the franchise creator, stating, “We’re building Hello Neighbor 3 around the idea that there is no wrong way to play.”

Everything New in Hello Neighbor 3 Pre-Alpha

Check out everything that’s changed since Prototype 3 to Hello Neighbor 3’s Pre-Alpha below:

  • Progressing through the game is now much easier. The new objective system helps you to follow the narrative while keeping the free-roam nature of the game.
  • No need to speedrun to beat the game. Now you can progress gradually across multiple “loops”. The end of the “loop” is not a game over but rather a seamless restart with your current objectives carrying over.
  • Improved characters’ behavior. Actions are more deliberate and predictable. Also, sneaking works better!
  • The Guest’s behavior and gameplay are now more interesting
  • Map updated with new locations and improved existing ones
  • Many objects and characters now have high-quality visuals
  • New items added and existing ones reworked
  • Fall damage adds complexity and planning to your exploring (we promise)
  • Canon story, including the Protagonist!
