Techland has just released the full patch notes for Dying Light 2’s 1.23 patch, which brings summertime to Villedor. It’s a community-oriented update that introduces a special UGC-focused event, encouraging players to explore ‘crazy maps’ and ‘visual mods’. Dying Light 2 Update 1.23 – Biggest Changes
One of the core features of the 1.23 update in Dying Light 2 is the introduction of a UGC event. This promotes player-created content over a four-week period, opening up and pushing special maps and fan-made mods to the front of the game.

- June 26 to July 2: LFG, Lunar Heist, Dying Guys
- July 3 to July 9: Desert Fury, The Intersection, Harran Prison
- July 10 to July 16: Holy Bullets, Aiden’s Nightmare, Island Marathon
- July 17 to July 23: Ancient Colosseum, Ruins of Hope, Fish Hunt
Another core element of update 1.23 is the Dying Light 2 x Balatro collaboration that brings a fantastic new bundle into the game.

Here’s the full spread of patch notes:
Co-Op
- Fixed the issue with full sessions using “Call for Help” still being displayed on the multiplayer games list
- Fixed the issue with Friends sometimes appearing offline in-game, making it impossible to invite or join them
- Fixed the issue with the black screen and loss of functionality occurring for the Peer when starting the dialogue before the Hubert chase objective in the “The Only Way Out” quest
- Fixed the occasional issue of displaying another Player’s model in the Menu tabs
- Fixed the issue with all the Players being respawned alongside the Host when the Peers were down and the Host died last
Tower Raid
- Fixed the issue with the inventory opening button working on controller only once before deactivating for the remainder of the run
- Fixed the issue with different strings and buttons being assigned for blueprint upgrading
- Fixed the issue with Infected failing to perform the run animation when pathing on lamps
- Fixed the issue with weapons sometimes visibly clipping through the elevator roof while jumping
- Slightly changed layouts of Floor 1, 8, and 18
Gameplay
- Increased the default immunity time by 50%
- Fixed the improperly placed spawn trigger causing Renegades to sometimes despawn in the “Crystal White” quest
- Fixed the issue with doubled Elemental Weapons for purchase in Jai’s menu
- Fixed the issue with dodging before the attack animation is finished cancelling the Stamina usage while also dealing damage to enemies
- Fixed the issue with the delayed appearance of polearms in Aiden’s hands when performing a top down attack after double jumping
- Fixed the issue with improper behavior of Waltz during one of his attacks
- Fixed the issue with the Infected Blade’s blueprint looking upgradable, but not appearing in the Craftmaster’s menu
- Fixed the issue unabling Players to upgrade Reinforcement and Empowerment mods to the 8th level
- Fixed the incorrect pop-up showing when quitting Photo Mode
- Fixed the issue where multiple blueprints purchased from Jai display different rarities in the Workbench and during a Tower Raid run
- Fixed the issue with Players being able to get stuck on a pile of books in the Prologue
- Fixed the issue with the game sometimes not launching the downed/death animation on the Player before showing the death screen
- Added the Stone Charm compatibility clarification to better inform Players about it only interacting with Heat, Shock, and Toxic weapon mods
Technical
- Fixed the issue allowing DLC weapons to be used after disabling/uninstalling DLC
- Fixed the issue with the game failing to launch on specific builds on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5
- Fixed the issue with improper lighting sometimes being present in all interiors throughout the game
- Fixed the issue that turns Mods on on Xbox Series X|S when restarting the game
- Fixed the issue where none of the sound sources are audible throughout the game and sometimes crashing when exiting the City map to the main menu
- Fixed various PlayStation and Xbox telemetry crashes
- Fixed the issue with the game failing to start while loading it from a save when the outro cutscene is interrupted
- Fixed the issue when pressing block on a gamepad when dashing causes that weapon to appear in player’s hands which leads to animation issues
- Fixed the missing subtitles for Fire Brigade Bundle in all languages
- Fixed the unintuitive transition button on Sola’s rewards screen
- Fixed the multiple broken terrain textures present in the Prologue
- Fixed the issue with tree behavior during some cutscenes
- Fixed the issue with a hole sometimes being visible through the textures of the ground in the Prologue
- Fixed the issue with some grass being present inside buildings
- Fixed the issue aligning transition between the deep water and the water’s surface
