Techland has revealed a Dying Light 2 x Balatro crossover, offering players a new bundle that comes equipped with a ‘Joker Charm’ that can randomly create one of 12 effects on the player. It also adds two exclusive new side quests and a stack of free items to Dying Light 2: Stay Human.
This crossover is a testament to Techland’s ongoing desire to support Dying Light 2, even with Dying Light: The Beast sitting just over the horizon.
Friend of Aiden
The Dying Light 2 x Balatro crossover has just been revealed by Techland, and it looks great. The ‘Friend of Aiden’ bundle that’ll be available as part of the collaboration includes four key elements, per a press release:
- Jimbo’s Outfit: No clowning around with this outfit on, you’ve got a job to do: kill some zombies!
- Ceremonial Dagger: It’s no longer just a Joker. Grab the dagger and show ‘em you’re not bluffing! Increase your multiplier by defeating different types of enemies, performing finishers, and destroying Joker Charms.
- Joker Charm: Which Joker will you get? Who knows! Create a charm, and you’ll receive a random one with a unique gameplay effect. Just like in Balatro, some will be more useful than others.
- Flying Blind Paraglider: You might miss out on a few chips, but every poker player has to have an exit plan when the odds aren’t looking good.
Dying Light 2: Stay Human has had a few collaborative crossovers in recent years, but this is one of the best. In most cases, the collaborations have been cosmetic only, resulting in players getting items or outfits that are themed on another franchise. The Dying Light 2 x Balatro crossover has quests and items that have a tangible impact on the player.
More meat, which is nice.
In a statement in a recent press release, Techland’s Tymon Smektala said:
We promised at least five years of support for Dying Light 2, and our fans can count on it.
This summer we’re going all in for our community. We’re celebrating our incredibly talented modding community with a UGC Fest and have a full house of free content in the Dying Light 2 x Balatro: Friend of Aiden crossover.
