An announcement for a new multi-year global partnership between the NBA, NBPA, and 2K has been released. As part of this partnership, a new entertainment company called NBA Take-Two Media will be launched.
NBA 2K Games Are Here to Stay
The latest announcement comes through an X post (formerly Twitter) from the official NBA communications account. 2K is entering a new multi-year partnership with the NBA and NBPA and extending its relationship with the NBA G League and USA Basketball. These new agreements will help 2K create “the most realistic, authentic and engaging NBA video game experiences.”
NBA and 2K have had a long-standing partnership, releasing several NBA 2K titles over the years. The partnership has been fruitful as NBA 2K is the “top-selling, top-rated NBA video game simulation series,” selling over 150 million units worldwide, attracting millions of daily active users, and featuring more than 75 brand integrations.
As part of the partnership, Take-Two and the NBA are also launching NBA Take-Two Media. NBA Take-Two Media will work towards bringing “fans and players together through competitive gaming, social-first content, original programming and live events.” They wish to celebrate “basketball’s unique role in culture” by producing “stories and experiences across gaming, travel, music, fashion, food and more.”
