Resident Evil Requiem Leak Reveals First and Third-Person Gameplay

Players might have had their prayers answered for Capcom’s next instalment, as a new Resident Evil Requiem leak has confirmed both first and third-person perspectives and a second playable character, a “well-known” figure.

Resident Evil Requiem was revealed this week at Summer Game Fest 2024; however, we have been hearing about the game for much longer. Some of the biggest leaks about the game have been about a third-person perspective and Leon Kennedy returning to the series with the new instalment, and it seems one of these details has been confirmed.

Resident Evil Requiem Features a Third-Person Perspective and a Second Playable Character, Leaks Reveal

The latest leaked details for Resident Evil Requiem come from a now-deleted post from XboxEra (via kathyyanhy). The report revealed details about a 30-minute demo, which provided them glimpses of certain aspects and gameplay elements of the upcoming title. The most notable inclusions are the perspectives, as players would start from a first-person view and then transition to a third-person view. It was also revealed that you can choose between the first-person and third-person perspectives for the whole game.

The next notable detail about Resident Evil Requiem is the inclusion of a second playable character. Developers have stated that a familiar character with a large arsenal of weapons will be a part of the title. Fans have already started theorising that Leon Kennedy will be a part of the game, and the new leak may have bolstered their confidence. However, it wasn’t confirmed whether this character is indeed Leon.

Lastly, we learn about a sequence featuring Grace Ashcroft, the protagonist of Resident Evil Requiem. The leak tells us about a scene where Grace is roaming through eerie corridors while flicking on the lights and opening doors. However, her exploration is suddenly stopped by a monster that bites her shoulder. Ashcroft uses a syringe to heal themself instead of the usual healing items.

Resident Evil Requiem releases for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S on February 27, 2026. What are your thoughts on the new leaked information about Resident Evil Requiem? Let us know below and join the official Insider Gaming forums discussion.
