Resident Evil Fans Think Leon is Returning in Requiem

Resident Evil Requiem fans already have theories about Leon Kennedy’s return to the series, and the trailer and actor’s resume provide new hints at his potential appearance.

Resident Evil Requiem was revealed this week during Summer Game Fest 2025. The new trailer revealed that players will return to Raccoon City, with Grace Ashcroft taking the centre stage in the upcoming instalment. However, previous leaks and new theories have led fans to believe Leon will also be a part of Resident Evil Requiem.

Resident Evil Requiem Hints at Leon’s Return

Spotted by IGN, the first hints come from Resident Evil Requiem’s Summer Game Fest trailer. In the trailer, the series returns to the Raccon City Police Department, Leon’s previous place of employment. Some players also wonder whether the destroyed jeep shown in the trailer could be Leon’s old vehicle. Moreover, a voice says, “Investigating all these strange deaths, huh?” at the 2:45 mark in the trailer, which many believe to be Leon’s voice.

The next hint about Leon’s return comes from the voice actor’s resume. Nick Apostolides, the actor who has portrayed Leon Kennedy in several games (Resident Evil 2 Remake, Resident Evil 4 Remake and more), has recently updated their resume. The latest entry reveals that Apostolides is working on an AAA video game, which cannot be revealed due to an NDA. However, their scope of work is similar to what they have done in the past for Leon Kennedy “Lead_Full P-Cap”, which suggests that the voice actor could be doing the same for Resident Evil Requiem.

Moreover, DuskGolem, the man behind the recent Resident Evil Requiem leaks, has also claimed that Leon is the main protagonist for the upcoming title. They added that players might not “see him for a bit (though he is in the trailer)”, but players will “play far more as Leon than Grace”.

In other news, Resident Evil 9 started development as an open-world title. Do you also believe Leon Kennedy will be a part of Resident Evil Requiem? Let us know below and join the official Insider Gaming forums discussion.

  • I’ve been reading comments on youtube that people say Leon will be in the game. I don’t know what to believe. I’ll just have to wait and see if Leon is the main character and what watch other people play Requiem first before buying it.
