Nintendo Switch 2 Has Become The Fastest-Selling Hardware In Company History

In just its first four days, the Nintendo Switch 2 console has become the fastest-selling Nintendo hardware ever globally, Nintendo revealed today on social media.

The console, which was released just last week, hit tremendous anticipation and hype as initial pre-orders quickly sold out both online and in stores. Nintendo’s new console is set to be one of the most in-demand systems not just in Nintendo’s history but perhaps in video game history as well if the pace continues in the months and years ahead.

Representative Director and President Shuntaro Furukawa announced that the console sold 3.5 million units worldwide in four days following its initial release on June 5th, 2025.

The Nintendo Switch 2 is, of course, the successor to the Nintendo Switch and features a larger screen, magnetic Joy-Cons (Joy-Con 2), as well as more powerful graphics performance and processing power. The system also boasts a new GameChat feature that introduces video or voice chat with the ability for players to share their game screen with friends while playing their game with the new ‘C’ button addition.
