While PlayStation, Xbox, and Activision tried to hash out a way to keep everyone happy where Call of Duty was concerned, there was also talk of bringing CoD to the Nintendo Switch—the Switch 2, in this case. This talk is heating up, and if reports are to be believed, we won’t have to wait much longer for a breakthrough.
Call of Duty remains the industry’s leading shooter, but its presence on Nintendo platforms is non-existent. But back in 2022, Phil Spencer said: “Microsoft has entered into a 10-year commitment to bring Call of Duty to Nintendo following the merger of Microsoft and Activision Blizzard King.
There’s been nothing substantial until now.
Microsoft & Nintendo Trying to Get Call of Duty on Switch 2

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 was announced during the Xbox Games Showcase 2025. It looks futuristic and seemingly features a return to advanced movement mechanics—taking boots off the ground for the first time in years.
According to Ethan Gach of Kotaku, Call of Duty is coming to the Switch 2 soon.
“Sources tell Kotaku both Microsoft and Nintendo are still working on getting Call of Duty on the latter’s hardware and will announce something in the future,” said the report.
Does this mean Warzone? Black Ops 7? Or a new CoD title altogether? We’ll have to wait and see if it happens. When it presumably does, it will increase Call of Duty’s already substantial reach.
