Every Summer Game Fest 2025 Showcase Rumor —All Potential Announcements

Summer Game Fest is just around the corner, and rumors have given fans a good idea of what to expect from the showcase.

On Friday, June 6, at 2 PM, Geoff Keighley takes center stage in Los Angeles, kicking off Summer Game Fest. The confirmed list of partners, along with industry rumors, helped narrow down which games will be revealed at the event.

Without further ado, let’s jump right into what fans should expect.

All Potential Summer Game Fest 2025 Announcements

Here is a list of games that could potentially be revealed during Summer Game Fest. None of these games have been officially confirmed, so they are not guaranteed to appear.

Resident Evil 9

Reliable Resident Evil leaker Dusk Golem claimed that they are ‘95% positive’ that RE9 will be revealed at Summer Game Fest. The insider explained that all ‘activity’ behind the scenes is ‘usually’ a sign of a new game being announced.

Capcom is a confirmed partner showcasing something at the event. Resident Evil Village was the last game in the franchise and was released in 2021. Resident Evil 7 launched four years earlier, so 2025 lines up for a new announcement.

BioShock

According to a report, it was claimed that 2K is preparing to reveal something related to BioShock before the end of summer. The rumor did not confirm if this will be a remaster of the original 2007 title or a new series entry.

BioShock Infinite was the last title in the series and was released in 2013. However, the franchise hasn’t been completely dormant as Netflix is producing a BioShock movie.

Sonic Racing: Crossworlds

SEGA will also be at Summer Game Fest. Although the legendary publisher has several games in development, Sonic Racing: Crossworlds is targeting a 2025 release date, but we haven’t heard about the game since a PlayStation State of Play in February.

The game also released a closed network test at the end of February, indicating that the game is still on track to launch this year.

The Wolf Among Us 2

The Wolf Among Us 2 was first announced in 2017. Fans feared that the project was cancelled after it was pushed back and Telltale Games closed a majority of its studio. However, in October 2024, the development team assured fans that the game is still in development.

Telltale Games isn’t listed as an official partner, but there is always a chance for a surprise appearance.

Crimson Desert

At the 2024 Game Awards, Peral Abyss confirmed that Crimson Desert will launch in late 2025 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Pearl Abyss is a confirmed Summer Game Fest partner.

It would be one thing if the studio had other upcoming games, but Crimson Desert is the only project in development, all but confirming we will see it at the event.

 Lies of P: Overture

Lies of P: Overture is scheduled to launch sometime later this summer. In March, the game’s director, Choi Ji-won, revealed that it will take approximately 15-20 hours to complete, as it features a wealth of new bosses, enemies, weapons, and characters.

Given that we haven’t seen anything recently about the sequel, an appearance at Summer Game Fest seems fitting.

Arc Raiders

Arc Raiders has become a hit sensation after multiple playtests have players wanting more. Thanks to a Steam update that was only available for a few minutes, players discovered a file that had a countdown that led to June 6 at 5 PM ET, which coincidentally aligns with the start time of the Summer Game Fest opening event.

It’s unclear if this will be another playtest or an official release date announcement, but it’s exciting either way.

Blood of Dawnwalker

Rebel Wolves revealed Blood of Dawnwalker in January 2025. Fans were stunned by the reveal trailer and have been eagerly awaiting more information. Bandai Namco is an official partner and publisher of the game, but also has several other upcoming games, making it challenging to predict what could be announced.

Kingdom Hearts 4

Square Enix first revealed Kingdom Hearts 4 in 2022. Since then, it has been radio silent on the project, leading to questions about when it will finally be released. In April, a leak claimed that KH4 will be released in 2025.

The studio is a confirmed partner for Summer Game Fest, but that doesn’t confirm that KH4 will be shown, since the development company also has other projects in development.

Final Fantasy 9 Remake

Speaking of other Square Enix projects, the studio teased a Final Fantasy 9 remake on April 7 on social media. A week before the teaser, Square Enix launched a FF9 website to celebrate the game’s 25th anniversary.

At this point, fans would be more surprised if there weren’t a confirmation at Summer Game Fest.

Hollow Knight Silksong was finally confirmed to release in 2025 during the April 2 Nintendo Switch 2 Direct. Team Cherry was not listed as an official partner for Summer Game Fest, but that doesn’t rule out an announcement.

Persona 4 Remake

On May 28, Yuri Lowenthal, the actor behind the voice of Yosuke Hanamura in Persona 4, confirmed that a remake is real.

On Bluesky, Lowenthal said, “And for those who keep asking, no, I will not be returning as Yosuke for the Persona 4 remake,” he said. “I asked. Maybe I even begged, but they don’t want me to come back.”

Fans already had expected a remake after domain registrations and updates to the website, but this was the icing on the cake. In saying that, Atlus isn’t listed as an official Summer Game Fest partner.

Subnautica 2

At an Xbox Partner Preview in October 2024, Unknown Worlds Entertainment announced Subnautica 2, with an Early Access release window of 2025. The developer isn’t listed as a partner, but Xbox will have its own showcase on Sunday, June 8, at 10 AM PT.

Dying Light: The Beast

Dying Light: The Beast is targeting a summer 2025 launch, but we still don’t have an official date. The latest news we heard about the sequel was on May 21, as Techland announced that the French-speaking version of the game will feature a different voice actor for Kyle Crane, the title’s protagonist.

Little Nightmares 3

Supermassive Games or Bandai Namco hasn’t confirmed a release date for Little Nightmares 3, but we know it’s scheduled to arrive sometime in 2025. Bandai Namco will be at Summer Game Fest, indicating there could be news if it’s not Blood of Dawnwalker.

Mina the Hollower

Yacht Club Games employee Alec Faulkner originally started developing Mina the Hollower as a side project, but management picked up the title and launched a Kickstarter campaign for it in 2022. As of March 14, 21,439 backers contributed, resulting in over $1.2 million in funds for the game’s development.

Summer Game Fest listed Yacht Club Games as an official partner, all but confirming it will be in the showcase.

Half-Life 3

It wouldn’t be a games showcase without mentioning Half-Life 3. In saying that, there is reason to believe that it will finally be revealed at Summer Game Fest. According to a rumor that circulated in May, it seems Valve already has a playable version of Half-Life 3

With all Half-Life 3 leaks, it’s essential to take them with a pinch of salt. But Valve would steal the show with an announcement of this magnitude.

In other gaming news, EA Sports’ F1 series continues with a two-year option pick-up, Sonic Blitz is now available on IOS and Android, and Outerworld 2 pre-orders reportedly open Sunday.
