A new claim suggests that Resident Evil 9 will likely appear at the Summer Game Fest this week.
Dusk Golem, the insider known for providing Resident Evil information, has stated that they are “95% positive” that RE9 will be revealed at Summer Game Fest 2025 (SGF). They cannot provide “100% confirmation” as no source has directly informed them about Resident Evil 9 being a part of SGF. However, there is “a lot of buzz in the grapevine” and a “lot of rumblings” behind the scenes.
The insider elaborated that the type of “activity” they have observed behind the scenes ”usually are signs” of when a new Resident Evil Game is being announced. Moreover, Capcom’s social media accounts have also become more active recently, which probably means they are gearing up for an announcement.
A couple of days ago, when the insider spoke about Resident Evil 9 starting development as an open-world title, they had mentioned a reveal and release window. According to DuskGolem’s previous tweet, Resident Evil 9 will “almost undoubtedly be revealed this year” and will be released in 2026. However, they were unsure whether the game would be revealed in fiscal year 2025 or 2026. At the same time, they felt there would be no more delays as the game had already been delayed twice.
Regardless, players should take this information with a grain of salt and tune in to Summer Game Fest on June 6 to know whether Capcom will reveal Resident Evil 9. In other news, RE9 was teased in a recent Resident Evil 4 Remake video. Also, the franchise’s upcoming move will be in the ‘spirit of games’.
