The Witcher 4 Tech Showcase Confirmed for State of Unreal 2025

CD Projekt Red will provide a tech demo for The Witcher 4 at the upcoming State of Unreal event.

Announced through the official X account (formerly Twitter), CDPR will showcase the “innovative technology” and “features” that have been used to power The Witcher 4 and beyond during the State of Unreal event. For those wondering, State of Unreal is scheduled for tomorrow, June 3, at 9:30 AM ET | 3:30 PM CEST.

State of Unreal is an annual event hosted by Epic that provides a yearly update on what’s next for the Unreal Engine and Epic’s Ecosystem. The upcoming event is being hosted in Orlando; however, interested players will tune into the live stream through YouTube and Twitch once things kick off. This is also the first year State of Unreal is being hosted at the Unreal Festival, which could mean they have something special planned for us, and CD Projekt Red might have a big reveal for The Witcher 4.

The Witcher 4 was revealed at The Game Awards in 2024, where we learned Ciri would become the series’ new protagonist. Since then, we have heard some tidbits, such as its map size and romance options, but nothing really concrete. Players will hope that CDPR has something significant to showcase at the State of Unreal event.

In other news, The Witcher 3 will receive one more patch to add cross-platform mod support. Also, CDPR has hired more developers to work on The Witcher 4 and Cyberpunk 2. What are your thoughts on The Witcher 4 being present at the State of Unreal event?Let us know below and join the official Insider Gaming forums discussion.
