It still feels weird to say Forza Horizon 5 is coming to PlayStation, but we’re going to see if the PS4 is a step too far, given the jaw-dropping visuals Playground Games has crafted for the racer.
Forza Horizon 5 on PlayStation 5. This statement still boggles the brain, but it’s a positive move toward ending exclusivity and bringing gaming together. So PlayStation gamers can saddle up their motorbikes, hop into their off-road racers, and climb up the great heights of monster trucks to enjoy a Forza game for the first time.
Forza Horizon 5’s release date is already fueled and ready to go. Other questions need to be answered, including if you need a Microsoft account, and if the PS4 is an option.
Can You Play Forza Horizon 5 on PS4?
A PlayStation 4 port of Forza Horizon 5 isn’t on the cards, and doesn’t look like it ever will be.
The PlayStation 5 is light years ahead of its predecessor from a hardware standpoint. It’s way more powerful, faster, and makes the PS4 look like a weaker older brother, sadly. When Forza Horizon 5 was announced, only a PS5 version was revealed—no PS4 version in sight.
You can even check the Forza Horizon 5 PS5 announcement news post to see the only console declared is the PS5. The PlayStation Store is another telling piece of evidence, too. If you search for it, it only comes up with a “PS5” edition, leading us to tell you right now a PS4 port is deader than a vehicle with no fuel.
Is Forza Horizon 5 Getting a Physical Release?
Bizarrely, Forza Horizon 5 is not getting a physical release, meaning digital is the only way to go.
The push for digital-only media continues with Forza Horizon 5. You can check any online retailers or physical outlets, and you’ll find no mention of a Forza Horizon 5 physical edition. The only way to play on PS5 is to buy it digitally on the PlayStation Store.
