In a post on social media, the team at Xbox offered a little advice on how you should treat games that you don’t like. The message came at a time when folks everywhere are ripping into Mixtape, an all-new short-form narrative title that dropped recently on Game Pass and became the talk of the town, but not entirely for good reason.
According to the team at Xbox, a game isn’t necessarily a bad game just because you don’t like it.
They’re kind of right.
If You Don’t Like It, It Might Still Be Good
The message from Xbox was loud and clear earlier today:
Reminder: just because you’re not personally into a game, doesn’t mean it’s a bad game
The convenient post comes as thousands of people are bagging on Mixtape, a brand-new game that shot into the spotlight in the last few days, for its stunning reviews as much as its glaring issues. Many have suggested outright that it’s not a real game because it has so many sections that can be completed without any input from the player.
Of course, some also suggest it’s some twisted industry plant of a game, but that’s a conversation for another article.
But regardless of that, the game has managed to earn countless perfect reviews, including one from us at Insider Gaming, which awarded the game a 10 out of 10 score.

It’s no big secret that gaming can be hugely subjective at times. It’s a one-man’s-trash-is-another-man’s-treasure kind of thing. Some games drop and are universally despised, but for some, they’re banger titles that are worth playing time and again.
Case in point, I rather enjoyed Redfall, and I’m replaying Far Cry: New Dawn and loving it. That’s one of the lowest-rated Far Cry games around, but I think it’s super entertaining. I’m also a huge fan of Fallout 76 and will die on the hill that it’s a fantastic Fallout title.
Just because you don’t like these games doesn’t mean that they’re bad games.
