The idea of being able to play Marvel’s Wolverine on PC doesn’t seem to be too far-fetched. Thanks to the emulation community, the PlayStation 5 exclusive now fully boots on the platform.
And it took less than two weeks to reach this point with emulators.
Wolverine isn’t playable on PC…yet
While the latest from Insomniac isn’t playable on PC, the video posted online over the weekend showed Wolverine booting up the game’s main screen and menus. It was done on a PC, per the video, with an AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D 8-core CPU and an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 graphics card.
It also only reached a max frame rate on the menu of 15 frames per second (FPS), with it averaging about 2 FPS. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to tell you that the game isn’t playable at that rate. And this is also without loading into gameplay, where, at this stage, it likely would crash.
That said, emulation takes time and effort, especially when it involves modern-day consoles. To see a game like Wolverine bootable this soon via PC emulation is nothing short of a major achievement.

Wolverine was released exclusively on PlayStation 5 on September 15. The game has received generally favorable reviews from critics online, including us at Insider Gaming.
In our review, Insider Gaming’s Ruan Almeid praised the game’s combat and performance by Liam McIntyre. However, the game’s “safe, cliché-ridden narrative” holds it back from being great.
