Windrose has surpassed another sales milestone.
Kraken Express and PocketPair released Windrose, a pirate-themed PvE MMO survival game, on April 14, and in just 2 weeks, the game has sold 1.5 million copies. Kraken Express announced the milestone in a Steam post. Along with the announcement of selling over 1.5 million copies, the development team released the game’s accolades trailer.
“As Windrose is sailing into the third week, we’d like to present you with this accolades / thank you trailer. That’s a token of our appreciation for your support, patience, and passion,” the message reads. “Hopefully, you will like it and chuckle at some of the funniest Steam reviews we’ve put in there. With this trailer, we also celebrate another milestone – over 1,500,000 copies sold. The community keeps growing, the feedback keeps flowing, and looking at this, we feel huge gratitude. Thank you for this opportunity, captains!”
What’s Next for Windrose?
Recently, the team at Kraken Express announced that they would soon shift focus to the game’s first major update. Plans to introduce a load of new content, including a new biome, the team has said it will take at least 6 months to publish the update. While that might sound like a long wait, they want to ensure the quality of the update and the content provided.
“This might sound like a long time, but we believe it will allow us to roll out an exciting and meaningful expansion to the game of appropriate quality. In other words, we will work very hard so it’s worth the wait,” the team said.
