Roadcraft’s release date is edging closer and closer, but you may still have some questions left unanswered, including the crossplay status, and we’ve got the answers.
Five years after the release of Snowrunner, Roadcraft is taking another leap forward for the series by introducing a heap of new vehicles and content, testing your ability to manage an entire fleet of machines.
You don’t have to go it alone, however, as multiplayer is an option, which begs the question of whether crossplay is available. Here’s all you need to know.
Is Roadcraft Crossplay?

Yes, Roadcraft offers full crossplay functionality, allowing you to play with friends regardless of whether they are on Xbox Series X|S, PC, or PlayStation 5.
This isn’t too surprising considering Saber Interactive’s previous titles, Expeditions and Snowrunner, have both offered multiplayer functionality and cross-play, though there is a big difference this time around.
Unlike Snowrunner, Roadcraft offers shared progression, so any progress made with a friend can be continued in single-player, regardless of whether you were the host or a guest.
This will make things much easier and won’t result in annoying repetition going through missions, unless you want to of course—I know full well I’ll have different save files for solo and multiplayer.
It’s easier than ever to manage more than one save file, too, which is great news considering Snowrunner could be fiddly in that aspect, so there are a heap of options.
If you opt to go down that route, however, be prepared to lose all the vehicles you have unlocked as you need to start the entire process again, but this does allow you to consider other options in the garage.
Does Roadcraft Have Cross-Platform Progression?
No, cross-platform progression is not available in Roadcraft, Saber Interactive has confirmed in an FAQ regarding the game.
The inability to transfer save progress between platforms is due to limitations in the PROS system, it’s stated, as save files will be too large to transfer over.
Snowrunner offered the ability to transfer save files across platforms, as did the spin-off title from the series, Expeditions: A Mudrunner Game, so it may come as a big surprise that this feature isn’t available. However, it may be offered as post-launch support later down the line.
With no cross-platform progression, make sure you pick up Roadcraft on the platform you intend to play on most so that you don’t have to start your journey from the beginning.
