Hall of Legends, Riot Games’ own League of Legends esports hall of fame, is continuing to expand and now covers three regions.
Riot has confirmed that G2 midlaner Rasmus ‘Caps’ Winther will be inducted into the Hall of Legends later this year.
He will be the third inductee, joining six-time world champion Lee ‘Faker’ Sang-hyeok and LPL icon Jian ‘Uzi’ Zi-Hao.
With one LCK, LPL, and LEC representative now in the illustrious group, fans are wondering whether the Hall of Legends will try to cover every region.
Is LoL Hall of Legends Regional?
Following the pattern, many are assuming that the 2027 Hall of Legends inductee will be an LCS legend.
This would presumably be Yiliang ‘Doublelift’ Peng or Søren ‘Bjergsen’ Bjerg, the league’s two most prestigious players.
However, many fans have complained about this idea and Caps’ inclusion, preferring Hall of Legends to be a more elite group of internationally successful players.
Neither Uzi nor Caps have ever won Worlds, though they both have MSI titles to their names.

Still, fans’ fears may have been unjustified, as it appears Riot may not be choosing regionally after all.
Popular LoL streamer Nick ‘LS’ De Cesare claims:
“From what I’ve been told, it was voted on by a lot of people and the other winner was almost Deft. So the idea that it’s regional or anything like that, I don’t think is true.”
Riot has stated that each year, the next Hall of Legends inductee is decided by a 50-person panel of esports industry veterans.
This panel looks over a shortlist of around 20 players and judges them based on competitive criteria, including: “international berths, international and regional titles, role-specific stats, and overall contributions to the sport.”
