Warhorse Studios recently confirmed that it was the target of a cyberattack, a reminder of the growing security challenges facing game developers. In a statement posted on its official X account, the studio acknowledged the incident but did not disclose whether any sensitive data had been accessed or exposed.
No Leaks.. So Far
While no leaks have emerged so far, the situation raises questions about the potential impact such attacks can have on game development. In cases like this, unreleased assets, internal documents, marketing plans, or project details can become vulnerable if attackers gain access to company systems.
The incident has also drawn renewed attention to Warhorse’s future projects. The studio has already confirmed that it is working on a new Kingdom Come title as well as a Lord of the Rings game set in Middle-earth. However, while those projects are now public knowledge, there is currently no indication that the cyberattack resulted in the exposure of confidential information related to either development effort.
For now, the gaming community can only speculate about whether the breach will have any broader consequences. While fans are naturally curious about what Warhorse may be working on next, the only confirmed fact is that the studio was targeted by a cyberattack. Any connection between the incident and rumored projects remains purely speculative at this stage.
