When is The Game Awards 2023? It has been announced that this year’s event will take place in December.
The Game Awards Host Geoff Keighley announced during Gamescom Opening Night Live that the annual event will take place on December 7, 2023. While an exact start time for the event has yet to be announced, past annual events have started between 4-5pm PT, meaning a similar start time is likely.
Whilst there isn’t much in the way of announcements as of yet, Keighley did mention that it will be the 10th show and it will be “very special”. The event will take place at the Peacock Theatre in LA, US.
The Game Awards is an annual awards ceremony honoring achievements in the video game industry and includes awards such as “game of the year”.
What to Expect at The Game Awards 2023
Like with all The Game Awards events, we can of course expect the awards ceremony to include the announcement of the winners, which will also include speeches. In addition to the awards though, The Game Awards has always increased interest by revealing new gameplay trailers and announcing new games.
Whilst there’s currently not much in the way of what we can expect, one obvious choice for some kind of announcement in our opinion would be Death Stranding 2. Geoff Keighley and Hideo Kojima have always had a close relationship and Kojima has prefered to announce his projects at Keighley-hosted events in the past. In fact, he revealed Death Stranding 2 at The Game Awards 2022, so some form of gameplay trailer or something similar is plausible. But of course, this is entirely speculation.
