The 2018 E3 Bethesda Press Conference was full of buzz as the company announced that The Elder Scrolls 6 was in development. However, it’s seven years later, and we still don’t know where it’s set, how it’ll be different, and we’ve yet to see a single second of gameplay.
Bethesda has been very busy in the last decade, it’s developed Fallout 4, Fallout Shelter, Fallout 76, and Starfield. But 2025’s Oblivion Remastered launch was a special moment. It reminded us all why we love The Elder Scrolls, and why it’s baffling we’ve still not seen or heard from The Elder Scrolls 6 in seven years.
Bethesda Continues to Keep The Elder Scrolls 6 a Secret

“The Elder Scrolls VI – Official Announcement Teaser” was released on June 10, 2018, by Bethesda.
The cinematic trailer takes us over mountains and scenic vistas. If you watched it live, you experienced a special moment—the reveal of “The Elder Scrolls VI” graphic popping up. Official confirmation that the sixth mainline game is underway.
Since then, the closest thing we’ve had to more details is a March 2024 post reaffirming that development is still ongoing, and the tiniest of mentions by Todd Howard during the Oblivion Remastered Showcase.
If you’re looking for more details today, I’m afraid to say we know just as much as you do. Reports claim TES6 is coming in 2026 or later, but that’s it.
The wait goes on, and you can refresh your memory with its only media so far.
