Shift Up’s CEO’s new statements reveal Stellar Blade 2 won’t be announced ‘prematurely’, but it’s time to build ‘expectation’.
We haven’t heard much about the Stellar Blade sequel since the developers confirmed it was in development. It seems the game will be a multiplatform release and could be set in a post-apocalyptic China. However, players will have to wait for an official announcement to know more details, and it won’t arrive before the developers are ready to show you something.
Shift Up CEO Says It’s Time to Build “Expectation” for Stellar Blade 2
In a new interview with 4Gamer (translated by TheGamer), Shift Up CEO Kim Hyung-tae recently discussed their development process and the progress of Stellar Blade 2. Hyung-tae first talked about development being a slow and careful process, where people might think “nothing is happening from the outside. However, their team is “working very passionately on the production” and will present the game “once it has reached a satisfactory quality”, instead of doing it “prematurely”.
The interviewer inquired about the status of the Stellar Blade sequel, specifically asking if it was in “good shape”. Hyung Tae replied that he doesn’t want to give away any spoilers, but he mentioned that “the time has come when you can have a little bit of expectation.” We don’t know what this means or how soon an announcement will arrive, but we do know it won’t be revealed until Shift Up is a 100% sure about their product.
In other news, Shift Up has announced it is acquiring Unbound and will publish its upcoming titles. Additionally, Stellar Blade could be coming to more platforms in the near future. So really we should be expecting news about Stellar Blade coming to Xbox next, a platform it was originally marketed to be launching on before Sony wanted to money hat all the gooners (and make it seem like they were puttin out more exclusives than they were… I feel like this year they only really had 3rd party exclusives with FF Remake part 2 and SB).
Shift Up has really been ripping since the launch of Stellar Blade. Anouncing that they werent taking the Sony bag for the sequel and recently picking up Mikami’s new studio to publish there first game. I wish them all the best! SB was a great game too imo
