Snoop Dogg Joins Stranger Than Heaven Cast as Details Drop

On May 6, 2026, Xbox presented a brand new look at Stranger Than Heaven, the newest IP from Ryu Ga Gotoku Studios. Several new details were shared, including the game’s musical theme and the fact that Snoop Dogg voices one of the main characters.

The 30-minute broadcast shared several new plot details and revealed that Snoop Dogg and his son, Cordell Broadus, are among the star-studded cast. Other cast members include Tori Kelly and J-pop star Satoshi Fujihara. The game’s narrative spans 50 years, beginning in 1915, and focuses on the showmanship of the entertainment industry.

Snoop Dogg’s Role in the Game Revealed

In the game, Snoop Dogg portrays a character named Orpheus. The MTV Video Music Award winner describes the character as a “cutthroat and charismatic” smuggler. The role his son is playing is yet to be revealed.

As can maybe be expected with a game that has hired so many musical entertainers as part of its cast, showbiz is a major part of the game, too. The main character, Makoto Daito, is an American-born entertainer with an American father and a Japanese mother. Throughout the story, Makoto and his friend, Yu Shinjo, form a partnership with Orpheus, who eventually discovers the main character’s musical talents.

Makoto and Yu eventually become business partners, and one gameplay mechanic sees Makoto scouting for other talents with musical gifts. He can also collect sounds throughout the world that players can use to create original compositions.

“Collecting sounds and composing ties into Makoto’s wider calling as a showman, producing and managing gigs and performances for other artists. This is where Stranger Than Heaven incorporates management elements; Makoto will organize the structure of various shows, decide which musicians will take part in it, and choose a setlist. During the broadcast, we see an example of this where the player can arrange a five-piece band on a stage by choosing from a roster of performers,” the Xbox Wire post on the game notes.

Stranger Than Heaven’s Unique Combat

Stranger Than Heaven offers a unique combat system in which both sides of Makoto’s body can be controlled independently. Players have the ability to block incoming attacks with one arm while counterattacking with the other. Additionally, they can tackle an enemy by using the LT and RT buttons together.

Stranger Than Heaven arrives this winter. It will be available on day one via Xbox Game Pass. Insider Gaming will continue to monitor the story and report any updates as more information becomes available.
