A new clone has appeared on Nintendo eShop, and it is a mix of Gears of War and Dead Space.
This is not the first time players have seen clones of popular games on digital storefronts; however, Nintendo’s eShop is known for letting these types of games through most of the time. We have already seen a clone of The Last of Us appear on the store, and now an amalgamation of Gears of War and Dead Space has arrived.
‘Dead Gears: Space of War’ Is A Dead Space and Gears of War Clone on the Nintendo eShop
Spotted by GameSpot, a new listing has appeared on Nintendo eShop for ‘Dead Gears: Space of War’, which is a pretty blatant ripoff of both Gears of War and Dead Space. The promotional artwork features a clear ripoff of the ‘cog’ used for Gears of War titles. The font of the title ‘Dead Gears: Space of War’ holds a close resemblance to the font of Dead Space. The publisher of the game is Consann Real Estate, which has also published what appears to be a ripoff of Fall Guys (Fall Buddies).
Dead Gears: Space of War is set to release for the Switch and Switch 2 on May 29, 2026. The game is 1.7 GB on both consoles and is priced at $9.99. Some of the gameplay screenshots for the title also resemble environments seen in the Dead Space remake.
Nintendo eShop is not the only platform players have seen ripoffs and clones of popular titles; PlayStation Store is also notorious for letting these types of games in. Players saw Ebola Village earlier this year, which was a Resident Evil clone. Additionally, a horror game featuring Uncharted’s Nathan Drake had also appeared last month, but the likeness was quickly removed after online chatter.
