Forza Horizon 6’s player peak on Steam is more than double that of Forza Horizon 5, setting a new series record, and the game is still in early access.
Playground Games’ latest installment to their renowned racing series is yet to receive a full launch on May 19, 2026. The players playing the game right now had to either purchase the $120 edition for early access or a Game Pass upgrade. However, the title is already soaring on Steam, with a huge influx of players yet to come.
Forza Horizon 6 Doubles Previous Game’s Steam Player Peak in Early Access
Spotted by GamesRadar+, Forza Horizon 6’s all-time player peak on Steam is already sitting at 172,093 at the time of writing. Compare that to Forza Horizon 5, which reached a peak of 81,096 on launch, so the latest installment has more than doubled that number. Forza Horizon 4, on the other hand, reached a peak of 75,689 around 2 years ago, but it’s worth noting that the game was released on Steam later. The racing simulation-focused spinoff, Forza Motorsport, is the lowest, peaking at 4,703 around 3 years ago.
One of the reasons Forza Horizon 6 has been able to attract so many players is its Japan setting, which is one of the most requested locations in the series. Moreover, the game is faring well with the reviews, with Insider Gaming giving it a 10/10 and stating, “Forza Horizon 6’s Banksy-level vistas of Japan are breathtaking, and the improvements to the progression system have placed the title at the pinnacle of the racing genre once again.”
In other news, Forza Horizon 6 is being impacted by Japan’s cultural beliefs, just like Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Additionally, mods for the game have already surfaced online.
